Ditto. Iankuo, Were you notified directly or did you apply via the NHS site?

I did the latter after getting the invite letter on Wednesday. Initially was offered one for this morning, however by the time I completed the application, only a few minutes, that one had been bagged so now its on Saturday 30th. Soon enough. Mine is at one of the new centres in Bournemouth about 25 minutes away.

I had a few other choices but only one other I would regard as local. One in Taunton was nearly two hours drive. I thought they were limiting to 45 minute drive. I guess geography is not their strong point.

By phone from the local GP practice. (All the local GP practices have combined and are using a medical centre ten miles away with a big free car park next to it.)

That sounds reasonably convenient. I was in two minds as to whether to take up the centre offer or wait and see if I get an invite from my GP. Not sure what their arrangements will be so so decided on the centre. It has a nearby car park although I expect to have to pay.

That's really good news for both of you.
I hope you don't have long queues and are in and out quickly!

Had the "jab,"  just after 15.00 hours today not much of a queue, run with military precision.

I've just had my first jab (Oxford/Zenneca as it happens). Bournemouth International Centre process very efficient. Three queues in all (mainly booking in and sanitising), but each one only took a minute or two.

Can't say the same for the car parking. Very few signs and none of those prominent. Took me about 10 minutes wandering to find the correct exit.

Once outside the marshals were helpful and I got me a buggy in a few minutes to avoid the drag up the slope to the hall entrance. Same coming back so that was good.

Have you experienced any symptoms or side effects,  Iankou? Just curious!

Pleased for you OT. Hopefully the wait for your second doses will go just as smoothly.

Slight ache in my arm for a couple of days, (no worse than the annual flu jab.) Slept for a lot longer than I usually do for one night.

So far no side affects at all. My cousin who had a Pfizer jab a couple of days ago only had a sore arm for a day or so like Iankou.

I already have my next appointment in April.

That's great! Thank you both for reporting back. I'm currently waiting for my first jab as I fall in the Extremely Vulnerable group.

I think things are moving pretty slowly in not so sunny Sussex at the moment!

I qualify as both extremely vulnerable and over 75 group, but I do know of a couple of somewhat younger vulnerable folk who have had jabs in our area.

A relative, also over 75 with no health issues, in Devon has also had a jab in the last few days. The roll out does seem a bit patchy at present.

Where I live apparently 1000 extra doses were delivered in error so they had to be used quickly. (I only had one days notice.)
