Anyway - the important thing about this link is that the disabled people won their case - their Council has been ordered by the Judge to drop the changes they were imposing due to the cuts and to return to their old criteria for whether or not someone gets personal care .... at least until the Case goes to the Appeal Court.
As I understand it the Council argued that they ONLY need to consider health & safety issues in deciding whether or not to pay for care and the Judge told them very firmly that they MUST also take into account whether or not the change has an impact on the disabled person's QUALITY of life. If the appeal court supports that decision, it's a huge win and could allow us to overturn most of the cuts to personal care provision.
