Weird payments

Although I keep an eye on my bank account it was only today when my fortnightly ESA was due that I realised things were strange. Today I had half my payment so looking through my online statement I can see I had half my fortnightly payment 7 days ago so I've had the normal amount but in an unusual way.

Is this odd? It's not helpful when I carefully set payments to go out on days money will arrive so I'm hoping this is a one off glitz but I'm unsure how it can happen in such an automatic system.

My daughter had this too and she saw something online about it happening to lots of people due to a tech problem with DWP. I suspect someone somewhere got confused after setting up early payments due to Christmas and new year and pushed the wrong button to reset to normal  :-)

The DWP have an announcement on their phone line about the part payments.
