That heron clearly has artistic sense.  The shape and colour balance is perfect.  Did you have to wait long for the perfect position or did you just happen to spot it at the right moment?

I noticed the Heron and my wife  just did a "point and shoot" with her mobile phone it flew away  seconds later. I cropped the picture on my PC before posting it here.

Not any more, there was more than one Heron.

That'll be the herons gone then! They only land in domestic gardens for one reason - foodies

The bloody heron's ate all the goldfish in our pond they had spotted the beck (pumping station) next door found no fish so took advantage of ours next door + in your photo the plumage of the heron was good camouflager with your shed for protection
