How do you do 'quote boxes'?

I clicked on the "quote" thing at the top right-hand side of your post - I hope that has just replicated what you wrote, then I have written after it.

If you want to quote from elsewhere, you can use the following and remove the spaces I will put in:

[ quote ]insert text you want to include here[ /quote ]

Looks like:

insert text you want to include here

I rarely quote the whole of what a person has said so this is what I usually do.

> Move to the edit box where I am writing my reply and click on the speech bubble icon in the toolbar - the one to the right of #.

Ah! I have never done it this way before, I have aways clicked on 'quote' and deleted what I didn't want. Thank you  >thumbsup<

There is a difference in the quote methods as using the quote button by the post includes the source of the quote, using the reply box just says 'quote'. I must admit I usually just italicise any fragments of text I quote.

The only messageboard where being able to quote is hard, is a B.B.C. messageboard. All the others have been very easy.

For those who are new to quoting and for those who need a refresher on this.

Speaking from my own point of view I find quote boxes or the alternative method of using different text colour to be easier to read and follow than italics.
