BKF, you want to see my wine collection? I mention my collection of wine as a year or so back I decided trying to cut the grass gardens, smallish front and back, with the mower I had and its trailing cable was just way too awkward for me and so I bought a petrol mower. The new mower made the job so much easier for me. Once upon a time the council did my grass cutting for free but once I bought it from them that stopped. I had new folk move in next door a couple in their 70/80's and though I was unaware of it the older one, the guy, wasn't going to be with us much longer. Anyways I suggested they spoke to the council about having the council deal with their grass cutting as they had been doing for me.
It turned out that the council decided that my neighbours didn't qualify for this help. Well me having my latest toy, the petrol mower, offered to do their garden whenever I was doing my own, it helped me reduce the amount of grass cutting petrol left in the cutter between cuttings which can see the petrol mixture go sort of flat something I understand is bad for these mowers.
Well I have continued cutting my neighbour's grass when doing my own ever since, given she is now on her own and not really physically able to do this herself it is to my mind a no brainer. All this brings me back to the bartering and wine collection, I tend not to drink very much when at home alone and even then it tends to be a glass or so of Johnny Walker black label. As much as I say to my neighbour she doesn't owe me anything for cutting the grass she insists on giving me a couple of bottles of wine so now I have a fair wee collection stored away in a wardrobe collecting dust, where's Dean Martin when you need him
